BENJY GAITHER BIO

Benjy Gaither has truly lived a life of music. His career as an artist, writer, and pro- ducer aptly continues the legacy of his parents, gospel music legends Bill and Gloria Gaither. Benjy wrote his first song at age four and has never stopped making music. He began playing in bands when he was fourteen, eventually forming the band Benjamin, which recorded and toured throughout the 90’s. After Benjamin, he turned his attention back to songwriting, penning songs for artists like Bill & Gloria Gaither, Gaither Vocal Band, Michael English, George Straight, and David Phelps. Among many career highlights, one of his most memorable was at Carnegie Hall in the days following the World Trade Center attack, performing “Carry

Us On,” a song he co-wrote with Marsh Hall for the victims of 9/11. Besides writing and performing, Benjy has produced numerous other artists and bands, scored films, and even released a country record on Mansion/ Sony Red.

Along with his musical endeavors, Benjy also has deep experience in film and video, producing feature films, heading an animation company, and working as an in-demand voice over actor. His credits include producing and scoring “The Last Ride” - a biopic recounting the last days of Hank Williams Sr, voicing Japeth the singing goat in the films Hoodwinked and Hoodwinked Too, writing and producing the certified-gold animated series “Gather’s Pond,” and voicing main characters in an array of top-selling video games.

Currently, Benjy is working on a new biopic feature film, multiple documentary series, writing and producing for several music projects, and playing in The Alternators - a Nashville band with a rotating lineup of top session and touring players.

Benjy has many core memories from childhood of being mentored and encouraged by artists from the Jesus Movement and he is incredibly excited to capture their stories, amplify their music, and inspire deeper passion for following Jesus with the RE·VISION project.
